Long Ride

Not being able to run because of some pain in my foot has been wearing on me. Feels like I'm losing fitness by not running but I've been assured I'm not. It's just odd not running after a long bike. Hopefully I'll resume running on Monday or Tuesday. Right now I'm icing and dropping Advil. I can still bike with absolutely no pain so that's the focus right now.

Today I got out for a long hard ride up to Sandisfield Mass. It was real cold this morning. It's the first ride where I've had to breakout some of the winter gear. The legs fought back some on the first hill out to Simsbury but quickly warmed up as I hit 309. A head wind picked up about an hour in and lasted all the way until I got out to the big climb. I hit the big climb around the 2:15 mark and once I got to the top, I figured I should ride it again since I wouldn't be running afterwards. The rest of the climbs back into CT were tough as usual but really manageable. This ride used to be killer for me but now it's become much more comfortable. I even decided to extend the ride a bit as I got back into Granby. Came of the bike feeling fresh with no foot pain.

I'll get out tomorrow for about 3 hours and then maybe get a late afternoon swim in as well.
